Donovan Group and Canadian Metal Buildings (CMB) partner to build state-of-the-art hangars at Brampton-Caledon Airport and a new manufacturing facility for LP Custom Machining in Ontario Press Release (May 2025)
In March 2025, DonoBrace was utilized by J&M Steel in the QES-A project in West Jordan, Utah - a 150,000 sq ft manufacturing plant designed for the production of mobile data centers for remote areas. This project showcased the innovative design, efficiency, and technical advantages of DonoBrace.
DonoBrace has been adopted by Canadian Metal Buildings (CMB) as a bracing standard in their business. As an industry leader in custom steel buildings, CMB prioritizes innovation by integrating cutting-edge products that accelerate construction timelines while enhancing efficiency for their customers.
At DonoBrace, we strive to revolutionize the metal building industry with our innovative bracing system. DonoBrace is a lightweight, high-capacity bracing system that has been transformative for the on-site installers across Australasia, and now, North America.
Bracing is a small but crucial aspect of the design and build process that is often overlooked.
At Donovan Group, we’re driven to create sustainable innovation that helps improve construction processes. In 2019, we developed DonoBrace to offer a more efficient option for bracing – helping streamline the process of planning, manufacturing, and installation.
DonoBrace is an innovative product backed by the credibility of Donovan Group. It was developed based on industry experience and with expert engineering. DonoBrace is a reflection of Donovan Group’s drive towards innovation and efficiency.
Designed to streamline the planning and installation process, DonoBrace is an off-the-shelf system for tension-only rod bracing.
“Proven action speaks louder than anything else in this industry,” says Dave Olsen, General Manager for Atco Steel Developments Ltd.
With petrol prices skyrocketing worldwide, reducing transportation and freight has never been more important. Every kilogram of material saved for a large-scale project – every bolt, plate, connector, and bar – delivers greater transportation efficiency.
When it comes to environmental stressors, predictable and ductile bracing can be the difference between structural integrity and catastrophic failure. DonoBrace is a tension-only rod bracing system that has been designed and dynamically tested to ensure superior performance in extreme conditions.
Two metal building manufacturers will soon commence producing and using DonoBrace under license in the United States.
Optimising costs for structural projects is two-pronged. The first priority is to minimise material usage and improve product efficiency. The second is to simplify construction processes to reduce the time, labour, and transportation required to get products installed.
DonoBrace is a tension-only rod bracing system designed to make on-site installation easier and more efficient.
Before joining Donovan Group, Kerry McCollum worked on engineering projects in the USA, Australia, and many areas around the world. With a mind for detail and engineering excellence, Kerry supported the DonoBrace team in developing the high capacity tension-only rod bracing system.
Efficiency means nothing if a product isn’t also predictable and up to code. DonoBrace has undergone rigorous independent testing to ensure that it performs to the same high standard – every time.
Building on part one of our Tension Bracing series, we’re diving a bit deeper into our conversation on how tension bracing works – both for buildings and the people creating them.
Without bracing, a structure cannot stand against wind or seismic activity. It’s a ubiquitous part of the building process, and yet many traditional bracing systems require difficult logistics and time-consuming installation.
We believe in finding better ways to engineer bracing systems for steel frame buildings. Innovative design for every building component can make the commercial building process as a whole more productive.
